Russia's Major Pavel to lead Russian Forces in Ukraine

Putin has called an obese general out from his retirement and has ordered him to take command of the forces in Ukraine after yet another round of purges of the top commanders that have left him "scraping the barrel."

Pavel will now take charge of the Russian special forces operating in the region after the unit's former commander in chief was seriously injured in an artillery strike. He was a veteran of the Soviet Union when they invaded Afghanistan in the 1980s. He had retired from the special forces and was enjoying his retired life.
