Watch Video of the Ukrainian Foreign Legion: Know details about their activities and how to join

The International Army of the Territorial Defense of Ukraine, or as you may also call it, the Ukrainian Foreign Legion, is a foreign military unit of the Regional Defense Forces of Ukraine. It was created by the Ukrainian government on 27 February 2022 at the request of President Volodymyr Zelensky to fight against the Russian invasion of the country. In establishing the force, Ukraine joins more than 90 countries that have recruited generals and raised foreign armies over the past two centuries.

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba claimed that as of 6 March 2022, more than 20,000 volunteers from 52 countries had enlisted to fight for Ukraine, with several thousand more reportedly joining after the announcement. Kuleba withheld further demographic details, as many nations forbid their citizens from fighting for foreign governments. As of September 2022, Army volunteers were recruited from 58 countries. This military team prepared for the defense of Ukraine, which will fight Russia and provide security to Ukraine. We will tell you the rules and regulations for enlisting in it.

Training and Selection:-

The first step would be for the candidates to contact the Defense Attache of the Ukrainian Embassy in their respective country.

Listed criteria for joining include having prior military or medical experience and submitting documents as proof of military service to an official of the Ministry of Defense at the Ukrainian Embassy. People were asked not to bring their weapons to Ukraine. Lviv arrived, and most of the volunteers who applied were accepted.

Ukraine's First Deputy Interior Minister, Yevgen Yesenin, announced in March 2022 that volunteers from the International Army would be eligible for Ukrainian citizenship if desired. The required probation period is the war period.

A British volunteer stated that the contract required to pay 7,000 per month to join the range of the International Army and extended for the duration of the war. However, some volunteers were allowed to leave after signing.

It has also been said that the initial training and selection of volunteers had led to "unequal" performance and that the initial intake had already been rejected by Ukrainian authorities, with an unnamed Ukrainian general stating, "we only need experienced combat veterans." The lesson we are learning is that others don't know what they are doing, and when they find out, they want to go home".

Unique Forces Wing:-

A special forces wing, known as the Legionnaires' Special Service Group, was composed of foreign fighters and commissioned by the Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry. This regiment differs from the regular International Army but recruits from the force. The group has been successful in carrying out several attacks behind enemy lines. Operations use small groups, which covertly move in and out of enemy territory through jungle routes and seek their targets.
