VK Bhavra, 1987-batch IPS officer Appointed new police chief of Punjab.

VK Bhavra, a 1987 batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the new Director-General of Punjab Police, an official order said on Saturday. The order came hours before the announcement of the dates for assembly elections in five states, including Punjab.

The order said that IPS officer VK Bhavra, appointed as the new police chief of Punjab, will have a tenure of at least two years from the date he assumes charge.
