The US State Department announced a fresh military aid package for Ukraine at $2.2 billion (£1.8 billion), which would include precision-guided rockets and Hawk air defence fire units, as well as other ammunition and weaponry.
The ground launched small diameter bomb (GLSDB), which would treble Ukraine's striking range and enable its military to conduct strikes far from the frontlines of the conflict, is an important inclusion.
