It's the 18th day of the war, Russia is continuing its invasion of Ukraine and now major cities of Ukraine have been destroyed.
Now Russian missiles hit the Ukrainian bases near the Poland border, Poland is a member of NATO which possesses a significant threat to Poland.
The Russian defense military said that it destroyed a large number of weapons that were supplied by foreign nations and they claim that they have killed up to 180 foreign mercenaries.
It is significant to note that this attack was carried out on the land of Yavoriv International Center for Peacekeeping and Security, a base just 15 miles (25 km) from the Polish border that has previously hosted NATO military instructors, brought the conflict to the doorstep of the Western defense alliance.
The regional governor Maksym Kozytskyy said that the Russian military has fired 30 missiles in the Yavoriv region.
Britain called the attack a "significant escalation," and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken responded with a post on Twitter saying "the brutality must stop."
White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan, speaking on CBS's "Face the Nation", warned any attack on NATO territory would trigger a full response by the alliance.
The western world is trying to isolate Moscow through imposing economic sanctions and supplying arms to Ukraine, but the fear of NATO being drawn in this conflict continues.
