Russia attacked Kyiv, and Ukraine retaliated with a rocket attack on two residential buildings

After leaving Kherson, Russia intensified its attack on Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. Two residential buildings were the target of two dangerous rocket attacks by the Russian army on Kyiv on Tuesday. After the attack, the danger siren also started sounding in the city. It is the biggest offensive since the withdrawal of the Russian army from Kherson. At the same time, the air defense system deployed by Ukraine shot down many Russian missiles. Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko released a statement on social media saying: "The capital has been attacked." According to preliminary information, two residential buildings were targeted in the Pečersk district. The air defense system shot down several missiles aimed at Kyiv. Medical teams and rescue operations have been carried out since the attack.

On the other hand, the UN General Assembly (UNGA) on Monday approved a resolution calling for Russia to be held accountable, including paying reparations, for violating international law by invading Ukraine. The 193-member body for the proposal had 94 votes in favor and 14 against. At the same time, 73 members remained absent.

Since the Russian attack on Ukraine on February 24, five resolutions related to Ukraine have been placed in the United Nations General Assembly. Russia's veto power in the 15-member UN Security Council has prevented the most powerful body from taking action. However, there is no veto in the General Assembly, which has previously vetoed four resolutions criticizing the Russian invasion.
