Moscow claims: it can't decipher the action of imposing sanctions on Putin's daughter

As the U.S. and European countries are imposing certain severe sanctions on Russia, trying to formulate additional pressure, the recent sanctions imposed on President Putin's daughter seem to baffle Moscow somewhat. Lashing out at the U.S, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, "Of course, we consider the sanctions imposed on Russian resources, but the extension of these sanctions imposed on family members seems to be incomprehensible. He further added, such actions are inexplicable and difficult to decipher, but we have to deal with such opponents."

Besides the President's daughter, various other officials and their family members are the targets. The new sanctions have been extended to the wife and daughter of Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov and the members of the Security Council. Apart from Putin's daughters, Katerina Tikhonova and Maria Vorontsova, various other officials are also targeted by the U.S. Katrina is a tech executive whose work exhorts the Russian defense industry. At the same time, Maria leads government-funded programs furnished with billions of dollars by the Kremlin for genetic research.

According to the fresh sanctions imposed on the family members, various speculations have been raised regarding the decision of the western powers, according to E.U. Members, these sanctions are imposed as they believe that Maria and Katrina hide their father's assets. The new set of sanctions imposed will curtail the right of the family members from owning any investment in the E.U Bloc and will bar them from traveling to any member country.
