Britain’s trade minister Anne-Marie Trevelyan to launch Free trade talks in Delhi in the coming week


On Sunday UK Government claimed that Britain’s trade minister Anne-Marie Trevelyan will launch a Free trade agreement [FTA] during her visit to New Delhi on Wednesday. Talking about the two-day visit to India The Department for International Trade stated that the two countries will hold bilateral talks and Trevelyan and Indian industry minister Piyush Goyal will have a discussion on myriad issues like the removal of trade barriers and promoting green trade.



Trevelyan said, “ The UK and India are close trading partners, and Building on that strong partnership is a priority for 2022.” She also added “I will be utilizing my stay to drive forward an ambitious trade plan which illustrates the UK’s Indo-Pacific tilt in action and shows how we are seizing global opportunities as an independent trading nation.

In addition on the next day of their visit, Goyal would be joined by the UK minister to co-host the 15th UK-India Joint Economic and Trade Committee to analyze the benefitting factors in business between both the countries under the Enhanced Trade Partnership agreed by Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Boris Johnson.
