The Russian military forces are slowly retreating from Ukraine's Capital, Kyiv and Chernihiv. The Ukrainian Presidential adviser, Mykhaylo Podolyak, claimed that the military activity would be scaled back to build trust for peace talks. He added that "backing the military, Russia is inclining towards a different strategy, i.e. falling back on east and south."



Explaining the activities of the Russian army retreating from the capital, Podolyak claimed that "Russian troops aimed to control and occupy the larger part of the territory and dig in, set up air defense." Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also confirmed the retreating of the Russian army from the capital Kyiv, "the occupiers are slowly withdrawing from North."



Simultaneously, as the war has accelerated to a greater level, both the countries, Ukraine and Russia, have requested the West to provide additional heavy weapons. The adviser to Russian President Podolyak demanded the West, "Give us aero planes, missiles….give us the old Soviet planes, that's all." In response, the US has announced to furnish Ukraine with $300 million in unmanned aerial systems and medical supplies, aggregating the spending to $2.3 billion.
