The ruckus is increasing over the EVMs found in Banaras. The state government has issued a statement on Akhilesh's allegation. It has been made clear in the statement that whatever EVMs found there, have nothing to do with the election results. The UP elections are over and the results will be out on March 10. But before the results, the round of accusations and counter-accusations has started.
One such allegation has been made by SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. He has claimed that three EVM-laden vehicles were caught in Banaras. Two vehicles left but one was caught by SP workers. On this basis, Akhilesh is saying that an attempt is being made to rig the elections.
But now the state government has responded to Akhilesh's allegations. It has been made clear from their side that all these EVMs have nothing to do with the results of the elections. It has been told in the statement that for training, the EVMs were going to UP College from the storage made in a separate food godown located in Mandi.
People have spread rumors by stopping the vehicle and calling it EVM used in elections. Tomorrow is the second training of the employees engaged in counting duty and these machines are always used in training for hands-on training. The EVMs which were used in the elections are all sealed in the strong room in the possession of CRPF and there is CCTV surveillance which is being watched by people of all political parties. Now talking about Akhilesh Yadav, he held a press conference today and made serious allegations against many people, from DM to BJP. He said that there are 47 seats where BJP never won. What is the reason that Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) are being carried without security?
Three trucks were carrying EVMs in Varanasi. One truck was caught and two fled. The DM is saying that they were being taken for training. Do I not know who the DM is? I had given my first posting in Muzaffarnagar. In view of this rigging, Akhilesh Yadav has appealed to all his workers not to leave the counting centers till the counting is completed there. By the way, the DM of Banaras had also presented a clarification on the allegations made by Akhilesh. He had insisted that these EVMs have nothing to do with the elections. According to him, these EVMs were to be used in the training to be given to the personnel tomorrow.
