250 doctors and staff of AIIMS Bhubaneswar have been found corona infected. In the last 24 hours, 11,177 new cases of corona have been registered in Odisha. After the doctors and staff got positive, the management has decided to stop the OPD service from Monday. Professor Dr. Sachidanand Mohanty, Medical Superintendent of AIIMS Bhubaneswar said that this decision has been taken after the doctors, staff, and students of the institute tested positive for corona.
Elective surgery has been put on hold and emergency surgery will be done following all COVID protocols.
Dr. Mohanty said that we are compelled to temporarily stop the walk-in OPD services after the medical personnel and students turned corona positive. He told that all indoor patients waiting for surgery in surgical wards will be operated on under the corona protocol. He also said that no emergency case will be denied timely medical treatment in the name of Corona.
Along Dr. Mohanty also told which services will continue:- Emergency Services like Day Care, Radiotherapy, Dialysis, Trauma and Emergency, Life-Saving Surgery, TeleMedicine Service, IPD Service, Kovid Vaccination Service, Vaccination for Old Registered Patients (Wednesday) and Friday) and Yellow Fever (Thursday), Pulmonary (Vaccination RMRC), Anesthesiology (PAC and Pain Clinic) will continue as before.
