US to Supply Ukraine with Long-Range Missile Systems Amid Escalating Conflict with Russia

In a significant development amidst the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, the United States has committed to supplying Ukraine with long-range Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS), a decision that is set to enhance Ukraine's military capabilities and its ability to target Russian military logistics at extended distances.

The decision was communicated during a private meeting between President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, according to NBC reports citing US officials. While the exact quantity of ATACMS to be transferred remains undisclosed, it is confirmed to be a limited number, fulfilling a longstanding request from the Ukrainian government.

Ukraine's plea for ATACMS, which are known for their precision and long-range capabilities, has been echoing for months as the country grapples with a prolonged and devastating conflict on its eastern borders. This supply of missile systems is expected to provide Ukraine with a strategic edge in targeting key Russian military infrastructure, further bolstering its defensive capabilities.
