Updated IPL 2022 Points Table, Orange Cap, and Purple Cap Lists Following PBKS vs. GT Match 16



On Friday, Gujarat Titans defeated Punjab Kings in a thrilling Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 encounter, with Rahul Tewatia smashing two sixes off the final two deliveries to win the match for his team after Shubman Gill anchored the chase with a superb 96-run effort. Earlier, Liam Livingstone blitzed 64 off 27 deliveries, while Rahul Chahar smashed 22 off 14 deliveries to help Punjab Kings end at 189/9. On the other hand, Gill dominated with the bat to keep GT on track in their pursuit. He achieved his highest T20 score of 84, surpassing his previous best of 84.



Hardik Pandya added 27 off 18 after debutant Sai Sudharshan struck 35 off 20. With the team needing 12 off two deliveries, Tewatia crushed Odean Smith for two maximums to get them home.

Gujarat Titans moved up to second place in the IPL 2022 points table with their third win in many games. With six points from four games, Kolkata Knight Riders are in the first place. Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore are in third and fourth place, respectively.

After their loss, PBKS dropped to sixth place, with Delhi Capitals in seventh place.

The Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and SunRisers Hyderabad are in eighth, ninth, and tenth place, respectively, having yet to win a match this season.



With 205 runs, Jos Buttler maintains his lead in the run-scoring standings. Shubman Gill has jumped to second place with 180 runs after scoring back-to-back half-centuries. Liam Livingstone is third, having also reached two consecutive fifties. Quinton de Kock and Ishan Kishan are fourth and fifth with 149 runs each.



Umesh Yadav continues to lead the race for the Purple Cap, with nine scalps in four encounters. YuzvendraChahal is in second place with seven wickets, followed by Rahul Chahar, who also got seven wickets on Friday. Avesh Khan has seven wickets in fourth place, and Kuldeep Yadav has six wickets to round up the top five.
