Russia Ukraine Crisis: Ukraine seeks help from India in the shadow of war

Russia Ukraine Crisis: Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dimitro Kuleba has appealed to India for help in persuading Russia. He also hoped that India's mediation would have a positive effect.

Attempts are now being made to drag India into the ongoing tensions between Russia and Ukraine. Thousands of troops, missiles, and heavy weapons are deployed along the border. Ukraine's president is pushing for peace as the United States and NATO fear a Russian attack. Meanwhile, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dimitro Kuleba has appealed to India for help in persuading Russia. He also hoped that India's mediation would have a positive effect.

Dimitro Kuleba made the statement while answering a question posed by the Indian media on Wednesday. India can clearly tell Russia that Ukraine is India's friend and partner. India should make it clear that any attempt by Russia to resolve the current crisis through military or internal instability is unacceptable to India, "Kuleba said in a statement. He further added that "if Russia listens to the Indian government, it will be a very strong message of support and it will have repercussions."

Reacting to Russia and Ukraine tensions, India refrained from directly supporting either side. India has called for a peaceful solution to the situation through political means. At the same time, on Monday, India abstained from voting on the Russia-Ukraine issue at the UN Security Council.

If India had voted for Russia, it would have angered many Western nations, including the United States. On the other hand, if India had supported Ukraine, it would have had a serious impact on its relations with Russia. In such a scenario, India distanced itself from voting, choosing the middle and peaceful path. At the same time, it is not acceptable for India to encourage any party to go to war.

Currently, war is raging in Ukraine and Russia. Russia has deployed 100,000 troops on its border with heavy weapons. Ukraine, on the other hand, has deployed weapons from the United States and other NATO countries to retaliate against Russia on its border with Russia.

Responding to a question about Indian students in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister assured security.
