Russia must Suspend all its military actions in Ukraine - International Court of Justice

The international court of justice has stated that "the Russian Federation, pending a final decision in the case, must immediately suspend the military operations commenced in the territory of Ukraine on February 24, 2022"

The court had a majority of 13 votes and 2 votes against the judgment. The court has also unanimously ordered that both the parties must refrain from any acts which may aggravate the dispute.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has tweeted that "Ukraine gained a complete victory in its case against Russia at the International Court of Justice. The ICJ ordered an immediate stop to the invasion. The order is binding under international law. Russia must comply immediately. Ignoring the order will isolate Russia even further."

Though many researchers suggest that there will be no effect of this verdict on Russia, Russia may continue its invasion of Ukraine.
