NASA's Ixpe mission

NASA has launched a new mission called IXPE (Imaging X-ray Polymetry Explorer) on SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket.

The mission cost about $ 160 million. It was initially selected as a small explorer mission. It is a joint mission of NASA and the Italian Space Agency. The duration of this campaign will be 2 years.

NASA has undertaken this mission to conduct a scientific study of the spinning of black holes.

The NASA IXPE mission is planned to study the black hole in the center of the galaxy.

There are three state of the art space telescopes for the source of energetic particles emanating from supermassive black holes and for studying such microscopic objects, the remnants of supernovae, super-massive black holes and other high-energy objects. Each telescope has a lightweight X-ray mirror and a detector unit.

These binoculars will help observe polarized X-rays from neutron stars and supermassive black holes.
