Indian Stock market update: 31st March 2022




The stock markets started well on Thursday. Both BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty opened in the green zone. Both were seeing an increase from the pre-open session itself, even after the market opened.


On Thursday, the BSE Sensex gained more than 100 points to open at 58,779.71 points, while on Wednesday, it closed at 58,683.99 points. The Sensex was trading at 58,768.35, up 84.36 points, or 0.14%, at 9:20 am.




The 50-company index Nifty of the National Stock Exchange also followed the path of the Sensex. On Thursday, it saw an upward trend from the pre-open session itself, and it opened at 17,519 points. At 9:25 in the morning, it trades at 17,531.65 with a gain of 33.40 points or 0.19 percent. Whereas on Wednesday, NSE Nifty closed at 17,498.25 points.


Mahindra & Mahindra and JSW Steel's shares got the most benefit from the gains in the stock market. Mahindra's stock was the top performer on the Sensex with a positive note of 1.29%. In comparison, the stock of JSW Steel beats on Nifty. It topped the Nifty with a gain of 1.21%.



HDFC, Bajaj Finance, Axis Bank, and ITC were on the Sensex list of Top-5 Gainer Shares. In contrast, Mahindra & Mahindra, ITC, Hero MotoCorp, and HDFC were on this list on Nifty.


In the initial phase of the stock market, the stocks in the worst condition, from Infosys to Reliance Industries, were involved. In the Top-5 Losers on the Sensex, the share of Infosys lost the most by 0.94%. The rest were shares of Wipro, Powergrid, Reliance, and Maruti in this list.




Hindalco's stock was Top Loser, falling 3.09% on the Nifty. After this, the shares of PowerGrid, Reliance, Cipla, and Wipro were the biggest losers.
