Blues release four players as free agents, Christensen sends off Barcelona

The Danish defender and former England international midfielder are among those to bid farewell to Stamford Bridge at the end of his contract.

Chelsea has drawn up their list of players to be released at the end of 2021-22, including Andreas Christensen and Danny Drinkwater, among those leaving Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have released that four senior squad members will join Antonio Rudiger, already linked with La Liga giants Real Madrid, to bid farewell to west London. Chelsea will undoubtedly be looking to bring in another proven center-half, with Christensen also expected to move to Spain and sign for Barcelona.

Denmark defender Christensen has been on the verge of an exit for some time, with the 26-year-old center-half watching Barca's move. Chelsea said on their official page, "Christensen's Chelsea contract expires this summer, ending his 10 years as the Blue, during which he graduated from our academy and played 161 games later. Got a regular spot on our senior team. "He will experience success in the F.A. Cup, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, and most memorable Champions League. He came off the bench in the first half of the final in Porto last year and was vital to our defensive efforts Because we overtook Manchester City."

He was relegated from Leicester in 2017, having helped Fox win a stellar Premier League title nearly 12 months earlier. Also released on the Blues side is that Belgian winger Charlie Musonda is moving forward, with a man who won two F.A. Youth Cup and one UEFA Youth League crown while at the first-team level at the Blues' academy. He has spent time on loan at Real Betis, Celtic, and Vitesse, now seeking a permanent deal.

Let us tell you that the fourth person to walk away from Chelsea at the end of his contract is Jake Clarke-Salter; on the other hand. The 24-year-old former England U21 international had the option of a 12-month extension with the Blues but has been in talks for his release.

He currently has spent time with Birmingham and Coventry and is understood to be targeting a move to a competitive Championship club.
