India's World Cup journey ended with a 10 wickets defeat against England

England beat India by 10 wickets on Thursday. India's World Cup journey ended in the semi-finals. The fifties from Alex Hales and Jos Buttler helped England chase down a target of 169 in just 16 overs to join Pakistan in the World Cup final.

England posted a sensational performance against India at the Adelaide Oval to register their share of an impressive 10-wicket win in the final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 on Thursday. India's journey into the showpiece event ends in the semi-finals with a game they would like to forget quickly. It turned out to be a one-sided affair, with Alex Hales and Jos Buttler not allowing any of the India bowlers to last as they kept hitting boundaries in almost every over. He had done well to retain India at 168/6 even though he restricted them to a low score.

Hardik Pandya hit a scintillating half-century to give his team a fighting chance. Virat Kohli scored his fourth fifty of the tournament to save the innings from disintegration. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul were dealt cheaply but got a body blow from Suryakumar Yadav, who could score just 14 runs. However, England remained invincible in their pursuit. Hales scored an unbeaten 86 while Buttler scored an unbeaten 80 as the target was met in 16 overs - 170/0. England will now face Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground for the trophy.
