What is RAW?

The acronym RAW stands for "Research and Analysis." The wing is India's external intelligence organisation. It was established on September 21, 1968. RAW's mission is to gather intelligence on other countries, particularly India's neighbours, to avert future threats to India, formulate suitable policies, establish international relations, handle international problems through diplomacy, and much more. If a country or a terrorist organization in any way threatens India, RAW is tasked with quietly neutralizing the threat.

RAW agents, also known as research officers, are stationed in various battle-prone and contentious places. They carry out their duties for the country and assist RAW in keeping track of other countries' development and progress in every field India is involved in. Since 1968, RAW has been doing this. Working for RAW as a secret spy is difficult. You will surely help your country, but little public recognition will receive. So, before you decide to join RAW, think twice. If you want to be famous and popular, RAW is not your place.
