The number of corona-infected patients has been on the rise in the country since the introduction of the Omicron variant, with an explosion in the capital on New Year's Day. In Delhi, the number of patients has directly increased by 50 percent and 2,716 new cases of corona have been reported in the last 24 hours. This is the highest number of patients in a single day since May 21, 2021. On May 21, 3,009 new patients were found.

The Omicron variant is feared to cause the third wave of Corona in India. Concerns have been heightened by the sudden increase in the number of patients in major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata. Today's figures for the Corona in Delhi are shocking to the health system. The daily number of patients in Delhi has reached close to three thousand. Today, on the same day, 2,716 new corona patients were found in Delhi. This is considered a warning bell. A total of 1,796 new corona patients were found in Delhi on Friday with a positivity rate of 2.44. There was a big increase in that today. Today, the positivity rate has reached 3.64. On December 20, only 91 new cases of the corona were found in Delhi and the covid positivity rate was 0.20. After that, in just 12 days, the picture has completely changed and the situation of 7 months ago has returned.

Meanwhile, the Delhi government has been alerted to the growing threat of corona. On the one hand, while imposing some new restrictions, the focus has also been on the health system. Health Minister Satyendra Jain informed about this. Considering the current situation in Delhi, more than 3,000 beds have been provided for children. Strict adherence to the rules by citizens will make it easier to control the corona. For this, the mask should be used compulsorily when leaving the house. Apart from that, other guidelines should also be followed, Jain said. Vaccination of children in the age group of 15 to 18 is starting from January 3. "We have completed the preparations for that," he said. Speaking about Omicron, Jain said that not a single Omicron-infected patient in Delhi needs oxygen yet.
